Pupil Premium
Schools are allocated Pupil Premium funding for children from low income families who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years or have been looked after continuously for more than 6 months.   A premium has also been introduced for children whose parents are currently serving in the Armed Forces.  The funding for the pupil premium is in addition to the underlying schools budget.  This additional funding is passed straight to schools. Schools have the freedom to employ strategies that they know will support their pupils to increase their attainment.
