Foundation Stage 1 (Nursery)

Foundation Stage One

Hello everyone and welcome to Foundation Stage 1’s area of the website. Most people know us by the name of Nursery but our posh title is Foundation Stage 1!

Mrs Wilkinson is the teacher in Nursery and

together with

Mrs Wharton, Mrs Dipper and Mrs Smith (all fully qualified Nursery Nurses)

we make it a happy, safe and fun place for all the children.

Important information is displayed on the Parent/Carer information board but it will also be posted on here together with our half-termly newsletter. Please make sure that every child has a changing bag in case of little accidents!

Topic this term: People Who Help Us and Easter

We will be looking at different people and their occupations and how they help us, including doctors, nurses, police officers, fire fighters and bus drivers. We will encourage the children to talk about familiar experiences within their family. Children will be using the role play area using their imagination to recreate real life experiences.

We will also be learning about Pancake Day and Easter.

Foundation Stage One Targets:

We have been working hard to set our learning targets. We would also like all the children to be doing the following at home:

  • Reading/looking at books.
  • Writing our name and other words and holding our pencil.
  • Counting up to 10.
  • Independently getting dressed and going to the toilet.
  • Sharing toys and tidying away – 2 of our important “British Values”.,

Our rewards:

We have a pebble pot for good behaviour which we try and fill so we get a treat, it could be a sticker or something nice to eat!

As we do more work over the year we’ll fill you in and maybe put some photos of what we have been doing. We love talking about what we are doing and I’m sure you will be just as excited as we are!

If you do have any questions please do speak to your child’s Key Person.

Session times:

Mornings 8.50 – 11.50
